Family Law Attorney Ashlee R. May
Growing up, Ashlee May was a stellar athlete. From the ages of twelve to seventeen, she participated in AAU basketball, where she won countless medals and trophies. Along with basketball, Ashlee enjoyed running track; her outstanding performance even won her two state rings in high school. She played basketball and ran track throughout her middle and high school years, and in 2008, Ashlee graduated from Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, VA.
In 2012, Ashlee graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Criminal Justice. Advancing herself, she continued her education to pursue a career in law. By 2015, she had graduated from New England Law in Boston, MA. The same year, she passed the July 2015 Virginia Bar Exam. The following year, Attorney May was inducted into the Omega Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.; she has been a member since December 3, 2016.
Attorney Ashlee May began her law career in 2016 at the Newport News Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office where she worked as a prosecutor for three and a half years. Until 2019, she prosecuted countless juvenile and domestic violence cases. Attorney May then decided it was time to make the switch and shift her focus to family law. She wanted to choose a field where she could use her knowledge and tenacity to continue to make a significant impact in the lives of others. Attorney May understands the importance a father plays in the family, and as a family-oriented woman herself, decided to join The Firm For Men. With the belief that men are oftentimes underrepresented in court, she is excited to put up a fight for the “underdog.”
